In the afternoon of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Facebook suspended our Facebook account, locking us out of all of the ScannerNerds.com Facebook Pages, Facebook Group, etc. which also broke all of our automated call posting systems to Facebook.
This also left us with no good way to tell Facebook users what was going on, however those who visited the ScannerNerds.com website not only saw our update as to what was happening, they also continued to see all of the posted calls, as the calls never stopped being posted to the website, they were only not appearing on Facebook.
Once we were informed of the Facebook suspension, we immediately filed an appeal. The automated response then said that they will typically provide an answer in just over a day. Finally, 3 days later, around 4 PM on Friday October 3rd, we received a response from Facebook that they made a mistake and they unsuspended our account. At that point we were able to log back in, only to find that our Broome County page was also unpublished for the same erroneous reason that our account was suspended, so now we have no choice but to make yet another appeal to get that issue resolved. The automated response to the latest appeal says they generally take 4 days, but could take longer.
The good news is that our Susquehanna County, PA & Chenango County, NY Facebook pages are back up and running. The Broome County, NY page is still unpublished, and hopefully Facebook restores it soon.
A big takeaway here that the ScannerNerds.com website remained up and posting calls this entire time, and remember too that we post even more calls to the website (EMS calls aren’t typically posted to Facebook, but they are posted to the website). If you are interested in our content, you should get in the habit of using the website. There’s more content, and it isn’t subject to the arbitrary and error prone AI determined censorship that Facebook is.
In the meantime, we have shifted our Broome County posts over to one of our alternate Facebook pages that we use for updates (SN Updates). Even with the account suspension being lifted, many aspects of our Facebook account still aren’t working right. We are still having trouble posting to our own Facebook Group, so it would be helpful if you could help get the word out by sharing this post to other users who might not see it.
